New Signorello Vintages

Signorello Estate makes limited quantities of premium varietals that blend classic French wine making characteristics with California fruit. Their style of winemaking is directly tied to the vineyards. They strive for lush, concentrated fruit flavors, and good acid balance in all of the wines. The goal is to have wines with early accessibility, as well as the potential to develop additional complexity as they mature.

The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate emerges from the glass with layers of smoke, mocha, spices, licorice and leather. It shows gorgeous inner perfume allied to dark tonalities of fruit in a deep, richly expressive style. The explosive finish makes it hard to resist a second taste. This is a highly promising wine. It is also more interesting than the Padrone at this stage. The 2010 is 83% Cabernet Sauvignon and 17% Cabernet Franc. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2022. $89.99.

The 2010 Chardonnay Hope's Cuvee is rich, explosive and beautifully layered. Honey, almonds, orange blossoms and butterscotch all burst onto the palate in a voluptuous creamy style of Chardonnay long on balance and harmony. Anticipated Maturity: 2012-2018. $69.99.

Single-Vineyard Pinot Noir from Davis Bynum!

Russian River Valley Pinot Noir expresses itself differently depending on location, site specifics, and the nature of the vines themselves. Jane's Vineyard is in the golden triangle of the "Santa Rosa plain" region of the valley, just southwest of Windsor and centered on the intersection of Olivet and River roads. This small area tends to enjoy the very best of the iconic local climate; never too hot during the day, and consistently chilly at night. Jane's Vineyard shows superior vine balance thanks to its well-drained, shallow and inherently low vigor soils. Finally, I choose a selection of Pinot “clones” to enhance complexity, while keeping to the food friendly flavor profile that has always been a hallmark of Davis Bynum: a little lighter, without being lean; a little crisper, without being tart; a little more fruit driven, without being distracting; with a round, soft mouthfeel.

$26.99 brings home this lovely bottle!

Treana- a California Classic!

The elements that go into Treana Red are aged 10-14 months in French oak, 65% of it new. In the summer after harvest, a trial blend of the best barrels of Cabernet and Syrah is created and then returned to barrel to marry the flavors- depth and power from the Cabernet and an inviting fleshiness from the Syrah. The wine comes back together in tank before bottling to complete the integration and allow for final fine-tuning. The result is a wine somewhere between Napa and Bordeaux, a full-throated, luxurious wine but one with finesse as well. “We walk the fine line all California winemakers walk,” says winemaker Austin Hope, “aiming for wine that’s not over the top, not all lushness, but with some grace and elegance.”

Normally $39.99, we have a sale price of just $34.99!

Ghost Block 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon

Finesse oriented with an elegant balance and structure, supported by bright aromas of roses, tobacco and spice. The attack is full on the palate with blackberries, cherries, cocoa, and cinnamon. The ripe mid palate ties together a long finish of cherries, caramel, spice, cassis and coffee.

92 points from Robert Parker, and here's what he had to say about this rare find:

"The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon is a plump, radiant wine graced with exquisite red fruit flowers, spices and minerals. It reveals gorgeous fleshiness all the way through to the finish. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025."

It's hard to argue with that, and at $69.99, who would want to?

The Peat Project

This multi-vintage Port Charlotte cuvee has been created by master distiller Jim McEwan to showcase the supreme elegance of this heavily-peated Port Charlotte spirit. While peated to a very serious 40PPM, Port Charlotte shares the wonderful poise and sophistication of its sister Bruichladdich spirit, while delivering its peat with none of the medicinal flavors that so often dominate coastal peated spirit.

The Power of Peat with elegance, complexity and the floral topnotes for which our Bruichladdich stills are famous.

The whisky is manually distilled from 100% Scottish barley, using the original19th century copper equipment and pre-industrial techniques. Matured beside the Atlantic, the marine-influenced whisky is naturally bottled in Islay's only bottling hall -— uniquely from Islay spring water from Gneiss (the oldest rocks in the whisky world) without the industrial processes of chill-filtration or artificial coloring.

Tasting Notes

A peat smokiness with vanilla sweetness, followed by spicy black pepper & lemon spice on the nose.
Brilliant creaminess, the layer upon layer of texture imparts an evenness of flavor across the palate. The finish is an extraordinary mix of sweet vanilla and peat smoke, with green fruit syrup. It lingers long and mellow, giving total satisfaction.

There is only a tiny allocation of Port Charlotte Scotches imported into the state of Florida.  This is sure to run out quickly at $59.99!
