Folie a Deux et Vous!

At Folie à Deux, they think it’s ok to be a little crazy about wine. After all, their name means “a passion shared by two.” These flagship wines are crafted with a single-minded focus from some of Sonoma County’s finest appellations.
Russian River Chardonnay is Seductive, with complex aromas of honey, green apple, tropical fruits, vanilla and baking bread. Juicy apple, pineapple and tropical fruit flavors with light butter notes from partial malolactic fermentation and crisp balancing acidity finish this lush wine.
The Sonoma Merlot is crafted primarily from vineyards in the cooler portions of Alexander Valley. This deliciously approachable Merlot offers ripe, juicy, black cherry flavors complemented by enticing notes of vanilla, tea and cocoa.
The Sonoma Pinot Noir is deeply concentrated with intense aromas of ripe plum, dark cherry and raspberry followed by subtle hints of earthy truffle and spice. Precise and textured, this wine has dark, briary fruit, chocolate and notes of tobacco leaf on the palate. The finish is long and smooth, supporting a structured and lush body.

Wrath Ex Anima Sauvignon Blanc

This 2011 Sauvignon Blanc continues to make the case that the San Saba Vineyard is one of the premier sites in California for this thirst-quenching variety.  It is loaded with powerful aromatics that range from juniper and leaf to lime blossoms and slate.  The palate is concentrated, powerful, structured, and flinty.  In keeping with previous vintages of Wrath Sauvignon Blanc, this wine is strongly varietal.

Definitely not a sin at the heavenly price of $21.99!

New Offerings From Cade

Cade Estate Sauvignon Blanc exhibits the bright tropical qualities that are typical of Sauvignon Blanc from their Oakville Estate. Aromas of pineapple, lychee, apricot blossoms and hints of anise are followed on the palate by flavors of pina colada, guava and vanilla. The small percentage of Semillon provides a smooth and balanced mouthfeel while the Viognier lends light floral aromatics. The Estate Sauvignon Blanc displays a lively freshness that makes it delightful to drink now, but thanks to the Semillon can be aged further for 3-4 years.

The 2008 CADE Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon is a powerful wine and a true representation of Howell Mountain terroir.  Aromas of black fruit, cassis, black olive and smoke rise from the glass, with secondary savory aromas, vanilla, black cherry and cola nut developing with aeration. On the palate, the dense flavors of black cherry, baker’s chocolate, black olive and dried herbs are followed by structured tannins and acidity that will allow the wine to age gracefully for the next 5-10 years.
Wine Advocate's take:
"The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain reveals a beautiful, rich blue/purple color, a layered texture, sweet cassis and blueberry notes, background minerality and light tannin. This impressively endowed, full-bodied Howell Mountain Cabernet is surprisingly approachable, but promises to evolve for 15 or more years. 92 points."
